Sussex Art Break
Dip your toe into the world of Sussex Art…
Start at Towner Eastbourne (main picture), with a private Behind the Scenes tour of the impressive collection of over 5000 works in the bespoke art store; there you will see works by Eric Ravilious, Duncan Grant, Sandra Blow, Alfred Wallis and Tacita Dean. This will be combined with a private tour of the current Sussex Modernism exhibition.
From Towner Eastbourne, head back to The Star, where you can see the hotel’s own impressive art collection, including works by Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell, and enjoy Dinner in The Dining Room.
After a good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast, you are invited to Farleys House and Gallery, for a talk with Lee Miller’s grand-daughter, Ami Bouhassane, followed by a private house tour of the former home of Lee Miller and Roland Penrose.

Edward Wadsworth, Sussex Bypass, 1937, tempera on linen and board, 55.8 x 40.6 cm, William Evans Bequest, Bangor University. Part of the current Sussex Modernism exhibition.
