Asparagus Lunch
Asparagus season is here. Sussex, particularly the South Downs, provides ideal conditions, with south-facing, free-draining soil that produces high-quality, tender, and sweet spears. It’s a short and fleeting season, typically running until late June, with peak harvesting in May when the warmer weather encourages rapid growth, sometimes up to 10cm a day. It’s truly a prized Sussex treat. To celebrate, we are hosting a lunch dedicated to asparagus on Wednesday, May 6. We hope you can join us.
