Hotel Porter

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Hotel Porter to join our friendly and professional team in early January 2026. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys delivering outstanding customer service and creating a warm, welcoming experience for guests.

As a Porter, you will be one of the first points of contact for our guests, ensuring they receive a memorable arrival and stay. You will assist guests with their luggage, escort them to their rooms, and attend to any requests to help them settle in comfortably. Previous experience is welcome but not essential, as full training will be provided.

This position will also involve occasional cover for the Night Porter team (9:00pm – 7:30am) during holiday periods throughout the year.

Job Title: Porter
Salary: £13 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift patterns: 7:00am–4:00pm, 09:00am – 17:00pm or 3:00pm–9:00pm

Key Responsibilities

-Welcome and assist guests on arrival, including transporting luggage to rooms
-Conduct regular checks of hotel exterior areas, fire escapes, and public spaces
-Maintain cleanliness of external areas, pathways, terraces, and public floors
-Assist housekeeping with room clearance after check-out when required
-Support basic maintenance tasks when needed
-Remove and dispose of rubbish appropriately, ensuring all areas remain clean and tidy
-Maintain fires during winter months
-Set up and clear courtyard cushions, blankets, and lighting daily
-Follow fire regulations and evacuation procedures at all times
-Occasionally assist other departments, including Reception and Food & Beverage
