Joseph Haydn: String quartet in G minor, Op. 20 No. 3
Ludwig van Beethoven: String quartet No. 9 in C major op. 59 no. 3
György Kurtág: Six Moments Musicaux op. 44
György Kurtag was born in Romania in 1926 and became a Hungarian national in 1948. He will celebrate his 99th birthday on 19 February 2025 and is universally recognised as the one of the world’s leading contemporary composers.
🎵On Wednesday 26 March:
Orlando di Lasso: La nuit froide et sombre
Thomas Adès: Arcadiana, Op. 12
John Dowland: Come, heavy sleep
Franz Schubert: String quartet No. 15 in G major D 887
First performed at the Cambridge Elgar Festival o 16 November 1994. The quartet was commissioned by the Endellion String Quartet who gave the first performance.
