Stargazing from The Star

Location The Star
Date Sun, 10 May

Join us for a three course dinner at The Star followed by a stargazing experience led by renowned astronomer, Jane Green. Following dinner, you will be guided to a secluded spot, with excellent access to the night sky. Jane Green will provide a guided tour of the night sky, and you will then have the opportunity to see the sky up close through a telescope.

On 10 May (weather permitting) you will see a host of spring constellations including Leo (The Lion), Bootes (The Herdsman), Ursa Major (The Great Bear), Virgo (The Maiden), Hercules (The Hero), Cygnus (The Swan) and Lyra (The Lyre). Located within these constellations will be spectacular galaxies, realms of galaxies, planetary nebulae, open star clusters and globular clusters. You will also see the mighty planet Jupiter which will be visible all night long – and will look stunning through a telescope. Helpfully, on this date, The Moon will not be visible, keeping the sky dark, enabling you to see more of the wonders of the night sky.

Do wrap up warm for the stargazing. We will be outside for just over an hour, and it can get chilly!
