About the Role
This is a hands-on, proactive role with responsibility for the maintenance, technical services and day-to-day upkeep of Hotel Tresanton and its staff properties.
The Property and Maintenance Manager will be responsible for making sure that the hotel’s buildings, facilities and technical systems are safe, compliant, well maintained and properly looked after. This is not a role that simply manages contractors or waits for problems to be reported. The person in this role will be expected to be visible around the property, identify issues before they become bigger problems and take a practical lead in getting work completed.
Alongside the hotel itself, the role will also have responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of the staff properties. This is an important part of the role and means taking a wider view of the estate, making sure that issues across all properties are identified, prioritised and dealt with properly.
The role combines practical maintenance work with technical knowledge, planning and management. The Property and Maintenance Manager will carry out work directly where appropriate, deal with day-to-day faults and repairs, oversee the hotel’s more complex building systems and bring in specialist contractors when their expertise is needed.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-On Maintenance and Facilities
-Take responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance and technical services across Hotel Tresanton and its staff properties, making sure work is planned, prioritised and completed to the right standard.

-Carry out repairs and maintenance work directly where appropriate and respond quickly to day-to-day faults and problems.

-Develop a strong working understanding of the hotel’s systems and equipment so that faults can be identified, investigated and resolved efficiently.
-Provide technical oversight when new systems, equipment or significant building works are introduced.
-Make sure specialist contractors are used where appropriate and that their work is properly managed and checked.
Planned Maintenance and Estate Management
-Develop and manage a planned maintenance programme covering the hotel, staff properties, buildings, plant, equipment and technical systems.
-Use maintenance records, recurring issues and regular inspections to identify where work needs to be planned before a problem occurs.
-Keep clear maintenance records and make sure outstanding work is followed through.
-Prioritise work based on safety, operational need, the condition of the property and the potential impact on the guest experience.
Compliance and Safety
-Support the Deputy Manager and General Manager in making sure that maintenance and technical responsibilities are carried out safely and in line with relevant legal and compliance requirements.
-Keep appropriate records relating to maintenance, servicing, inspections and contractor work.

Contractor and Supplier Management
-Build effective working relationships with contractors and suppliers and make sure work is completed to the required standard.

-Response times and resolution of maintenance issues.
-Quality and cost-effectiveness of contractor work and maintenance expenditure.

-A good understanding of building services and the ability to work with more complex technical systems.
-Experience of managing contractors, maintenance work and competing priorities.
-Ability to work independently, use sound judgement and know when specialist support is required.
Personal Attributes
-Hands-on and proactive, with a practical approach to solving problems and getting things done.
-Technically confident and organised, able to manage both day-to-day issues and longer-term maintenance priorities.
-Calm and reliable, with the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, contractors and the wider management team.
